Many homes and buildings are completely destroyed.
One of the hardest hit areas, many deaths have been reported, however, dramatic rescues have also been taking place.
Hatay is the southernmost province in Turkey, bordering Syria to the south and east, Adana to the northwest, and Gaziantep to the northeast.
