Children and families in camps for the displaced, are forced to live and sleep in the pools of mud and freezing rainwater that has ravaged their tents.
The tears flow on the faces of babies and children who bear this terrible burden, adding to what was already a brutally hard life.
Their tents and makeshift brick buildings sit in pools, small lakes of muddy water. There is no escaping it, as it comes inside faster than they can scoop it up and remove it.
The few belongings that they managed to bring with them, while escaping with their lives, are stacked high to try to preserve them from the cold, wet mess of the mud.
Imagine trying to sleep, play, eat, or rest at all in such conditions.
The world still watches, and stays silent.
