I Like Holding Someone’s Hand
The little girl, Sham, who was rescued from the rubble of the horrible earthquake in February, is recuperating in a hospital in the United Arab Emirates.
Her legs had to be amputated below the knees.
One of the rescuers visits her and says she promised him she would get better.
She says she will try.
Imagine her fears and thoughts right now, her dreams must be nightmares of the ordeal she endured, and what further suffering is to come.
He tries to kiss her hand to make her feel better, but she just wants him to hold it. “I like holding someone’s hand”, she says.
