the war buried its people and our memories under the rubble of the city of Jasmine.

Damascus – Eastern Ghouta is the place of my childhood. Ghouta is where my ancestors come from and it is the tomb for my memories. Ghouta is a plain of orchards. It is a natural city famous for its charm and fruits. It is surrounded by mountains from which the rivers emerge. The ancient poets have written a lot of poems about it and they have described it as a heaven and one of the wonders of the world . The Prophet PBUH spoke about it and spoke in the best way. He spoke a lot of hadiths, and I was fortunate to be born there. It was fate to live there only for 15 years. After that, the war buried its people and our memories under the rubble of the city of Jasmine. Despite this, it remains beautiful in the eyes of its people. We watered that land with blood to stay, but it didn’t stay and we didn’t stay.
