The water scarcity crisis is coming back to the middle east In Syria as it used to be a chronic issue, this time it will be much more expensive to treat drinking water because of natural contamination which means that less than 10% of water is what remains for drinking because the rest is consumption in irrigation and agriculture. Especially when there are drought circumstances, managing limited resources such as water becomes more difficult, especially in terms of consumers who have no access to it.

100% of IDPs living in last resort shelters are fully dependent on humanitarian assistance such as clean water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services. less than 10%, or 5 liters per capita per day, is what remains for drinking because the rest is consumption in irrigation and agriculture.
