In a touching show of support for Ukraine, the Syrian Civil Defense (White Helmets) form the words “STAND WITH UKRAINE” using blue mats held over their heads.
The tragic slaughter of civilians in Bucha, and other cities in Ukraine is very familiar to Syrians.
Russia, along with the Assad regime, has committed the same atrocities and war crimes against Syrian civilians.
Who better to understand the suffering than those who also suffer at the hands of the barbaric Russians?
As Syrians, we all understand the terror and trauma this causes, and we agree with our beloved White Helmets, we must all STAND WITH UKRAINE.
